“Frankincense and myrrh are, historically, two of the most valuable ingredients in the world, even more valuable than gold at times and great favourites in the opulent fragrances and incense resins created in the Orient, China, India and throughout the Catholic church. I liked the idea of creating a fragrance from ingredients associated in the West with winter months and fusing their exoticism with a herbaceous blend which helped enrich the characteristics and depth of the fragrance for use all year. Inspiration for the packaging came from incorporating Islamic multi-directional, geometric motifs, acknowledging the art of Indian miniatures from the Mughal period, embracing the ingredients’ original roots.”
