DETAILS

This creation is inspired by the great artist and painter Giovanni Francesco Barbieri, nicknamed the Guercino, who was a tireless creator of works of art and constantly striving for personal improvement and progression. For these extraordinary talents, he was hired by the Malatesta family to paint in the court under the patronage of Sigismondo. There is a wonderful quote by the writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe in his famous book 'Italian Journey' in which he describes Guercino with these splendid words, which encapsulate his essence and which then reverberate fully in the creation dedicated to him, in this bottle with its soft ivory colour and the tranquil and light grandeur of its unforgettable and astonishing effluvium. “Guercino is an intimately prosaic, virile painter, without any roughness; indeed, his works are distinguished by a gentle moral grace, by a quiet and free grandiosity, and by a special quality that allows the newly trained eye to recognise them at first glance. The levity, purity and perfection of his brushwork are astounding. He uses particularly beautiful colours for the drapery, with reddish-brown half-tints, which harmonise very well with the blue he favours.” (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Italian Journey). The creation opens with a bouquet of bubbly, graceful citrus fruits, where the dominant notes of Amalfi Lemon and Bergamot from Reggio Calabria echo, emphasised by the strength of Cedar of Scalea embraced by the combination of Bitter Orange and Brazilian Orange. This hesperidic head plunges lightly onto a heart of sweet, succulent fruits, paired with flowers with a seductive, sensual scent. Here is the Green Apple of the Dolomites with the decisive Romagna Pear, which are enveloped by Heliotrope and Frangipane flowers, to be in turn enveloped by the fresh sweetness of Persian Melon. A heart so unexpected and large, so innovative and revolutionary that it takes a long time to be fully understood, and only experienced noses can penetrate the folds of its uniqueness, just like the art of Guercino, quoted by Goethe. The base, to match its revolutionary and unique heart, in turn expresses an acrobatic balance of harmonious and dissonant elements in unison, where we can admire the power of Jamaican Amyris embraced by the balsamic freshness of White Spruce, counterpointed by Indian Patchouli, then pushed into a sensual and aphrodisiac vertigo triggered by the famous magic drop jealously and secretly kept in the Terenzi Library, composed of Ambergris, Musk and Madagascar Vanilla Bourbon. This fragrance shimmers crystal clear and graceful, through the echoes of purity and seduction, leading us to astonishing and irresistible wondrousness.
